The traditional Maori mekameka braid is commonly used to weave flax tipare (headbands). Here I have woven in silver to create a bracelet.

This bracelet measures approximately 1.5cm wide and the braid is 13cm long with a 6cm chain that alows adjustment to make it 3cm shorter. The braid has been shaped into an oval and with gentle pressure can be adjusted to fit any sized wrist. All components are sterling silver.
Because the bracelet is hand woven it may differ slightly from the one pictured.
