Lara Hopwood

Once upon a time I worked as a scientist researching deep into the DNA of viruses, animals and plants, then, after raising my head from the mysteries of the double helix, I became a science educator. Then I embarked on the ultimate biological experiment by creating and nurturing new life in two human beings. Throughout this time I balanced my science side with the driving need to be always making something with my hands  -working with wood, fabric, glass, flax, clay, iron and precious metals.

Nowdays this merger of science and creativity finds me working metal into new and pleasing shapes with the hope that someone else might see something in my creations worth buying and therefore fuel my passion to be always making.
