The traditional Maori mekameka braid is commonly used to weave flax tipare (headbands). Here I have woven in silver to create earrings.

These earrings measure approximately 4cm long, with the ear hooks measuring 2cm and the braid 2cm long and 1cm wide. All materials are sterling silver. Because these are hand woven they may differ slightly from the one pictured.
