The traditional Maori mekameka braid is commonly used to weave flax tipare (headbands). Here I have woven in silver to create a brooch.

This brooch measures approximately 4cm long and 1.5cm wide. The brooch pin is made from stainless steel and all other materials are sterling silver. Because these are hand woven they may differ slightly from the one pictured.
